The success of the Bernie Sanders campaign in raising enough money to viable at the presidential level appears to have been the catalyst. It’s nice that the Democrats have discovered the base but it doesn’t mean they won’t be taking corporate money too. For sure this is making it a lot more difficult for RSN to raise enough money to address our basic expenses. A Democratic majority in one or both houses of Congress would perhaps restore a modicum of oversight to the federal government. Republican rule of all three branches certainly isn’t working. But a truly independent press is something that will serve democracy day in and day out for as long as it stands. RSN is a voice you have depended on through it all.
