DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY BATTLE ESCALATION —  In a gubernatorial primary long categorized as cordial, Democrat  Bob Massie took a new turn earlier this week at the First Essex and Middlesex Delegate Dinner on Tuesday night as he sought to show daylight between his campaign and  Jay Gonzalez . That specifically came from Massie highlighting longtime support for single payer health care and women's rights, and "that he was not a government insider who just wants to go back to the Patrick days," according to First Essex and Middlesex Coalition's  Kathy Pasquina , who is supportive of Massie.
