Image
25 June 18 It's Live on the HomePage Now:   Reader Supported News I FOR ONE DO NOT WANT TO LOSE RSN AT THIS CRUCIAL TIME!! - I don't like getting solicitations for donations any more than anybody else does. Except that for RSN, this seems to be a very "necessary evil" for funding and continuing quality reading. BUT, RSN is one thing I am TOTALLY WILLING to contribute to! ...BTW, I'm retired, on a fixed income - and not all that much $$ income at that! So howzabout all you "readers" (but non-donors) become REAL SUPPORTERS - send RSN some $$$, PLEASE!! (I for one do NOT want to lose RSN at this crucial time!!) Thanx RSN! / Will, RSN Reader-Supporter Sure, I'll make a donation! FOCUS: How Totally Out of Control Is Facebook? Read This  Sahil Chinoy, The New York Times Chinoy writes: "A review of hundreds of Facebook's patent applications reveals that the company has considered tracking almost every aspect of its users' li...

07 June 18 It's Live on the HomePage Now:   Reader Supported News WHERE WILL THE MONEY COME FROM? WE BEGIN ANOTHER FUNDRAISER. - We have to find a way to raise a budget. In the case of Reader Supported News that has always been accomplished through reader donations. It’s not the economy, that appears strong, by means of Trump or Obama. However in either case these are not bad economic times. Our readership remains strong, people love what we do. But getting people to actually donate has become a real battle. It is a battle that we have no choice but to fight and win. We will. / Marc Ash, Founder Reader Supported News Sure, I'll make a donation! FOCUS: Matt Taibbi | An Ode to the Feeble Corporate Apology  Matt Taibbi, Rolling Stone Taibbi writes: "Three of America's biggest companies - Facebook, Wells Fargo and Uber - have been offering up vague apologies via television commercials in recent weeks. If you watch the Cavs-Dubs game tonight, you'll proba...

11 April 18 It's Live on the HomePage Now: Reader Supported News SO FAR FOR THE ENTIRE DAY: $175. Doing everything we can to pull in a few basic donations. So far for April, it’s not happening. We need roughly 700 donations for an entire month, that’s what all of the fundraising is about. 700 people come to Reader Supported News every 30 minutes. Ignoring fundraising is certain to force a crisis. In earnest/ . Marc Ash - Founder, Reader Supported News. Sure, I'll make a donation! He’s an unhealthily un-self-aware business overlord who unfortunately has been convinced by someone to have political aspirations." 09 April 18 PM It's Live on the HomePage Now: Reader Supported News IGNORING FUNDING MAKES IT MUCH WORSE - Thirty thousand readers and “30” donations is a guaranteed formula for disaster. That was the case yesterday and we made little or no progress. Without any doubt, many of those who come to Reader Supported News ignore the organization’s financial well-being. Need to stand against that. / Marc Ash, Founder Reader Supported News Sure, I'll make a donation! Trump gets schooled in Syria on how much his words matter Trump vows a 'big price to pay' following apparent chemical attack in Syria BY JAMES HOHMANN with Breanne Deppisch and Joanie Greve THE BIG IDEA: Those who don’t learn from the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them. That’s what the United States keeps doing in Syria. In 1950, Secretary of State Dean Acheson gave a  speech  implying that the Korean Peninsula was outside of the core defense perimeter of the United States. Though not intended, this sent  a signal  that America was abandoning South Korea. That helped provoke a war we’re still dealing with the fallout from today. Barack Obama made one of  the gravest blunders  of his presidency when he declared in 2012 that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad using chemical weapons against civilians would cross  a “red line”  and bring “enormous consequences.” When hundreds were killed by a gas attack the next ...
