Utter desperation does work, but wow is it inefficient. All the far more efficient and greatly preferred methods such as inspiration, gratitude and the organization’s popularity don’t produce donations. We are never desperate when we start a funding-drive but we will always get there if desperation is the only thing that will generate donations. It is due in large part to the online landscape right now. Which ain’t good. In any event being proactive is far better than waiting for the situation to turn dire.
