It’s been over 100 days since Donald Trump ended protection for Dreamers – 800,000 young people who are part of our American family. It’s been over 100 days since funding for community health centers lapsed. It’s been over 100 days since hurricanes ravaged Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico – and Congress still hasn’t provided enough funding for disaster relief. For over 100 days, Republicans have refused to fix any of these issues, and today’s stopgap spending bill just kicks the can further down the road. We don't need new promises. We need new laws and real solutions.

Net neutrality is dead

Dear Friend, Net neutrality is dead — at least for now, with it the dissenting voices like that of Countercurrents.org, unless we act urgently and collectively. In a 3-2 vote today, the Federal Communications Commission approved a measure to remove the tough net neutrality rules it put in place just two years ago. Those rules prevented internet providers from blocking and throttling traffic and offering paid fast lanes. They also classified internet providers as Title II common carriers in order to give the measure strong legal backing. André Staltz a reputed technology blogger wrote that internet started dying back in 2014. He predicts that what's coming is the consolidation of internet monopolies , namely Google, Facebook and Amazon what he terms as Trinet. THE STATE OF THE COMMONWEALTH IS STRONG -  Those expecting to be surprised by Gov.  Charlie Baker 's state of the commonwealth speech last night had to be disappointed. It was classic Baker: straightforward, stressing uncontroversial positives like bipartisanship, a double-down on the fight against the opioid epidemic, statistics coming from rankings that prove his point, no specific mention of President  Donald Trump , and a line about the  Patriots ' three Super Bowl visits over the last four years (which landed like catnip for the audience in the House chamber).
