Bill Galvin: TIME TO RETIRE! Charlie Baker's NON-RESPONSE

FROM BLUE MASS GROUP: Did Bill Galvin Just Admit to Election Tampering? March 6, 2018  By  seamusromney   11 Comments Galvin’s comment to Dan Rivera that “I made you mayor”  strikes the ear as REALLY weird. Galvin didn’t do a single thing to help Rivera get elected, other than sending staff to keep the election fair. Why would he feel he is owed something for that? Now, I admit I’m biased because I don’t like him or Rivera. But to my mind, that sounds like a Freudian slip. Like the observers weren’t there to make it fair after all. Maybe it is, or maybe Galvin’s just clumsy wth words. But it’s enough that I would investigate if I were in Maura Healey’s shoes. Galvin owes the public an explanation of what he meant. If one isn’t forthcoming, it’s only fair to assume he meant the worst. Misguided Boston Globe and PIPELINES

FROM BLUE MASS GROUP : Globe, put down the pipe March 6, 2018  By  Charley on the MTA   Leave a Comment Even yet still another baffling, curdled-milk editorial  endorsing more gas pipeline infrastructure, torching (see what I did there) us anti-pipeline “faddists”; and going so far as to flame Sens. Jamie Eldridge and Marc Pacheco and AG Healey, the Little Red Hens of renewable energy expansion and climate readiness. No. This is Orwellian and silly on the face of it. You cannot say “renewable energy is certainly the region’s future” while at the same time arguing for permanent fossil fuel infrastructure that lasts a generation (30-40 years), certainly crowding out renewables. LNG tankers, rail and trucks; oil-fueled peaker plants are a lot of things — maybe worse in the very short term — but none are permanent. Furthermore, Eldridge, Pacheco, and Healey are hardly “sitting on their hands” as the Globe preposterously accuses; they are pulling the weight,...

Water leak forces shutdown at Pilgrim Nuclear in Plymouth By Patriot Ledger Staff Posted Mar 6, 2018  The plant is powering down after operators identified a possible leak in the condenser bay. PLYMOUTH — Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station is powering down after plant operators identified a likely water leak inside the feedwater heating system. It’s the latest setback for a plant that has been fueled for the last time and is scheduled to close on May 31, 2019. “This is something we’ve been monitoring, and when we saw indications when there was a leak, we began powering down,” said Patrick O’Brien, spokesman for Entergy, which owns the plant. The leak is in the innermost feedwater heater inside the condenser bay, which is a difficult location for workers to access safely while the plant is functioning, O’Brien said. The plant has five feedwater heaters that push water through the reactors where it turns to steam and condenses back through. “The he...

DEVAL’s 2020 radar — BUTTIGIEG backs SETTI — CAPUANO gets cold shoulder from WARREN, MARKEY 03/07/2018 07:33 AM EDT By Lauren Dezenski  ( ldezenski@politico.com ; @LaurenDezenski) with Brent D. Griffiths ( bgriffiths@politico.com ; @BrentGriffiths) GOOD MORNING, MASSACHUSETTS.  A nor'easter is bearing down on the state for a second time in less than a week - Happy hunkering. DEVAL'S RADAR SCREEN -  Thanks to four little words, former Gov.  Deval Patrick  has joined the ranks of the Massachusetts politicians who are eyeing the 2020 presidential race. The election, he said in an interview recorded for Kansas City's  KCUR  last week, is "on my radar screen." What exactly does that mean? Those close to Patrick tell me that while the comments signal a shift in his publicly expressed interest as he weighs a  potential run,  it's still far from any definitive declaration. As  John Walsh , the former chief of Patrick's PAC, put ...
