Pompeo’s in. Here’s what you can do

Image
Our power is growing. We came  within a few votes of  stopping Trump’s war cabinet in its tracks. With your help,  our massive grassroots opposition, showed that Mike Pompeo may speak for Donald Trump, but he doesn’t speak for us. And while the Senate ultimately ended up confirming Mike Pompeo as our next Secretary of State, the 57-42 vote breakdown means that Pompeo received was among the fewest votes of any Secretary of State nominee in modern history.  And it’s because of us. But we can’t stop now. In just a few weeks, the Senate will vote on yet another member of Trump’s war cabinet — torture enabler Gina Haspel, Trump’s nominee for CIA Director. And if we can build on the momentum from yesterday’s neck-and-neck vote,  we have a serious chance to tip the scales to stop Haspel and deny Trump the full war cabinet he wants. Can you chip in today to keep our campaign on full blast and win over the extra votes we need to stop dangerous ...

URGENT RE: Syria Strike

Image
Last night, Donald Trump bombed Syria in a dangerous, reckless, and  illegal strike. And today, U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley said the United States is “locked and loaded” for a second strike on Syria if the Syrian government uses chemical weapons again.  [1] A second strike will not prevent horrifying chemical weapons attacks or hold Bashar al-Assad accountable.  We cannot let Trump bomb Syria again. Tell Congress: Debate and vote on this illegal war in Syria before Trump launches a second devastating strike. — Stephen ————— Donald Trump just bombed Syria. This strike will only create more destruction, chaos, misery, and death in Syria. It will neither ease the devastating humanitarian crisis nor hold Bashar al-Assad accountable.  The only way to end the terrible war in Syria and bring justice to the victims of war crimes — is to end the war in Syria. But with warmongering National Security Advisor John Bolton egging Trump on, today’s attack c...

How we can stop John Bolton

Image
Trump just named a disgraced warmonger as his National Security Advisor.  John Bolton helped engineer the Iraq War, can’t wait to attack North Korea, and is obsessed with bombing Iran. And one thing just got really, really clear:  Trump is building a war cabinet. Even scarier: We can’t directly block Bolton. But — and this is a really big but — we  can  block Bolton’s war agenda by getting in the way of Trump’s other new war buddy, Secretary of State nominee Mike “Bomb Iran” Pompeo. John Bolton can waltz right into his new gig, but Mike Pompeo needs to clear a Senate confirmation vote before he can take the reins of the State Department. That’s where we come in.  Bolton’s shockwave appointment as National Security Advisor gives us an opening to convince senators that Pompeo is a five-alarm nominee for Secretary of State — but we’ve got to move fast. Urge the Senate to block Pompeo and shut down Bolton’s war agenda. Pompeo was already a terrifyi...

“The brutality of this war will be beyond the experience of any living soldier.”

Image
The U.S. military is secretly rehearsing for a bloody war with North Korea. Top military brass gathered in Hawaii last week to draw up plans for evacuation helicopters and troop movements. [1] They said 10,000 Americans could be wounded in just a few days. This is our push moment to prevent war with North Korea. Win Without War is using every possible tactic to pressure Congress to step in, from grabbing headlines to flooding phone lines. But we need your help. The truth is, if we don’t get in Trump’s way right now,  we could be looking at war with North Korea in a matter of months.   Can you chip in $6 today to help slam on the brakes before Trump’s war games become a devastating reality? Donate $6 Now  After the military’s planning exercise, the Army’s Chief of Staff warned that a war with North Korea would be the most brutal any living soldier has ever seen. If you’re scared — well, so am I. But his warning is also a huge opportunity. Powerfu...

End America’s secret war in Yemen [Signature Needed]

Image
Our tax dollars are triggering the worst humanitarian crisis on the globe — and we have a chance to stop it.  Add your voice >> For years, the United States has been enabling Saudi Arabia’s brutal campaign driving more than 8 million Yemenis to the brink of famine. Our government gives Saudi Arabia bombs and planes. Our troops even deliver fuel to Saudi jets in midair while they conduct bombings. Yesterday, Vermont progressive Senator Bernie Sanders and constitutional conservative Senator Mike Lee of Utah introduced a resolution to cut off U.S. support for this illegal war. Win Without War is leading a massive coalition of progressive partners, millions of activists strong, to win this vote.  But we’re racing against the clock — and we need your help to get your Senators on board.   Will you join our mass movement and urge the Senate to pass Bernie’s resolution and end U.S. support for the war in Yemen? Make no mistake:  This is a United S...
