Bitcoin Frenzy: The Fever Chart Of A Deepening Crisis

Dear Friend,

The bitcoin bubble could take the world into another economic crash. Writing in the Financial Times and Washington Post, former US Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers said the US economy was on a “sugar high”. He noted that economic growth this year had been driven by a stock market rally that has seen an increase of more than $6 trillion in household wealth “captured by a small share of the population.” Despite record-low capital costs and abundant corporate cash, both of which are an inducement to investment, productivity growth has been very slow and “even innovative companies such as Apple and Google cannot find enough high-return investments and so choose to engage in large-scale share repurchases.” The implication of Summers’s “sugar high” diagnosis is that the US and, by extension, the world economy are heading for a crash.

Campaigners have set up an an easy to use website that allows you to automatically petitition your MP, Banks, Mobile phone companies and other service providers like MGNREGA, EPF etc against the coercive attempt to link Aaadhar number. Trump Administration’s Turnaround In Syria
by Nauman Sadiq

On the campaign trail, in his speeches as well as on TV debates with other presidential contenders, Donald Trump repeatedly mentioned that he has a ‘secret plan’ for defeating the Islamic State without elaborating what the plan is? To the careful observers of the US-led war against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, however, the outlines of Trump’s ‘secret plan’ to defeat the Islamic State, particularly in Syria, have now become obvious.

Being True Unto Your Heartfelt Beliefs!
by Sally Dugman

If you are not true to your professed position in life, then you are false to everyone, including yourself. If you take up a religious or ideological position, then there are no half-measures in terms of support for the position presumed to be undertaken.

German Politicians Condemn Anti-Israel Protest As “Anti-Semitism”
by Dr Ludwig Watzal

What criticism of Israel’s criminal behavior is concerned, the exercise of freedom of speech is in great danger. Among German politicians and the fawning media, the anti-Semitism-club is always at hand to make critics silence or stigmatize any Israel critics as “anti-Semites.” It still works, although we are living in the 21st century and not in the Middle Ages. With reference to Karl Marx one can say; a ghost is going around in Germany, the specter of anti-Semitism!

New Horse And Words For An Emergency Room Operation Needed
by Richard Oxman

Social Networking is clearly making rubbish of all that’s dear to us, and there is a great urgency for educators and parents to address what Chamath Palihapitiya  spotlighted in a recent speech. But many things must be dealt with simultaneously if any educator and/or relatives of youngsters are going to come up with decent approaches for our collective crises. War and much more must be on the table for reconsideration… along with a necessary new look at high tech gadgetry and its offshoots.

So turns, his life jumps up, they run
Joyously into each other’s arms
As the snow falls upon them
For the first time, alone to face
The gathering storm.

Giving Hope To Youngsters
by Moin Qazi

Gejha is like any other village in Noida, but only till one sets foot in it. Once the hour-long ride from the capital ends, an unlikely educational hub for the underprivileged emerges, being presided over by a former corporate honcho. Protsahan: Ek Pathshala has been set up by Abhay Singh, a retired Chief General Manager of the State Bank of India (SBI), in Sector 93 of Noida. He set up Protsahan when he found children in this dusty nondescript settlement spending their day directionless and with no hope of any future.
