GOOD MORNING, MASSACHUSETTS. Welcome to Monday.

LEPAGE RAISING FOR DIEHL — Maine Governor Paul LePage makes his swing through Massachusetts today to stump for state Rep. Geoff Diehl's Senate bid. Diehl is the party-endorsed candidate in the three-way Republican primary to take on Sen. Elizabeth Warren after emerging from the state GOP convention with more than 50 percent of delegates' support.
LePage is slated to headline a fundraiser for Diehl in Waltham tonight, with tickets ranging from $1,500 for the host committee, $250 to attend the photo reception, and to $50 for general admission. LePage and Diehl were united in their support for President Donald Trump on the campaign trail in 2016. LePage even recently joined a group of governors who signed a letter calling on Trump to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his work with North Korea.
While in town today, LePage will also attend a roundtable discussion with the conservative-leaning Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance's advisory committee in Boston.

Meanwhile, another one of Diehl's opponents Beth Lindstrom has started making appearances on Trump's favorite TV network, Fox News, saying she "has the best chance to win in November, end of story. ... Vote for me because I'm qualified, because of my background, because of where I stand on issues," Lindstrom said on May 9. "If we give the voters in Massachusetts a real choice, we might give [Warren] a real surprise."

Herndon, The New York Times: "Representative John Lewis helped change America as a passionate civil rights activist before his tenure in Congress, but Saturday afternoon, inside the brick-lined walls of Twelfth Baptist Church, the Georgia lawmaker made a rare case for traditionalism and seniority. Mr. Lewis had come to Twelfth Baptist to campaign for Representative Michael E. Capuano, the liberal Democrat who faces a grueling primary challenge from Ayanna Pressley, a progressive Boston City Council member who is trying to become the state's first nonwhite member of the House of Representatives."

- Michelle DuBois, State Representative for the 10 Plymouth district has endorsed Bob Massie for Governor, from the Massie campaign: "As Governor Bob Massie will expand public education funding, create universal affordable child care for children zero to 3, expand environmental protection in urban communities where people are being made sick from air and water pollution, confront the opioid addiction crisis head on, and close our State's terrible income inequality gap."

- "In unusual twist, primary challenges loom in Mass. for 5 in U.S. House," by Bob Salsberg, The Associated Press: "Several members of Massachusetts' all-Democratic congressional delegation are getting a run for their money this year — from within their own party.
