Fuming In The White House: The Bannon-Trump Implosion
by Dr Binoy Kampmark

Whether this papering over is of any effect is beside the point.  Bannon and Trump are linked, bound by an insurgency that rocked, and continues to unsettle the furniture from the White House to the Pentagon.  Washington continues being rattled and shaken.  It is an unsettling event that is bound to continue beyond the relationship, Trump always an echo of the man who proved indispensable in jimmying the safe to the White House open.

Monsanto, Bayer And Neoliberalism: A Case of Hobson’s Choice
by Colin Todhunter

A Bayer marketing professional recently stated on Twitter that critics of GMOs deny choice to farmers. It’s a common accusation by the pro-GMO lobby. In a previous article, I noted the idea that GMOs offer increased choice is erroneous and that, by implication, corporations like Bayer or Monsanto restrict options. Much evidence suggests that GMOs provide a false choice.

Revolutions…. For Whom?
by Surabhi Singh

As my nation stands betrothed to World Hunger Index and Bullet train, it is quite incomprehensive, which beau she will meet at the altar-towards the end of 2019. The cacophony for more power, more votes, more solidarity grows within the usual suspects of political alliances. With each passing day India descends into another abyss of political turmoil, the stakes unusually high

Neoliberal Totalitarianism And The Social Contract
by Jon Kofas

Analyzing aspects of the rightwing populist tide arising largely in reaction to the pluralistic-diversity model of neoliberalism, this essay examines the evolving social contract that normalizes systemic exploitation and repression in the name of capitalist growth

A Church In Need Of Genuine Reform
by Alan Danesh

The “people’s Pope” is striking all the right notes: concern for the poor, for the climate change, sympathy for all who suffer under oppression, and apology of sorts for sexual abuse of children by Catholic priests. Yet something is amiss amid all these verbal proclamations: Genuine reform – reform of the “Universal Church” whose oppressive and archaic dogmas have been responsible for much human suffering throughout centuries and continue to do so even today. Here is a list of recommendations for some long-overdue and much needed genuine reforms

Trump Already Fading Into Irrelevance
by Eric Zuesse

This will be a nonpartisan commentary about U.S. politics, as viewed by an American historian who is disgusted with the profoundly corrupt U.S. Government — not merely the political Parties, but the billionaires who effectively control them. Not everyone who finds Trump and the Republican Party to be beneath contempt is a Democrat. All that this commentator is is a democrat — a person who is opposed to all forms of dictatorship, including America’s own.

Theresa May And The Snail Going Away
by Valleria Ruselli

Theresa May has announced that she will commit the UK to eliminating all “avoidable” plastic waste by 2042, but her pledge to abolish waste such as carrier bags, food packaging, disposable plastic straws and the like is aimed to score political points, not to reduce litter or prevent further pollution of the seas. How do I know? Her promises lack urgency, detail and bite.

Here’s Hoping You Do The Same On Some Level In Your Community
by Richard Oxman

Lest you think that this article is just about books, permit me to clarify that I’m just as concerned about artwork across the board. And to make sure that the reader — looking at the content below — doesn’t view this piece as U.S-centered, allow me to show how (as of five years ago) museums in Europe and elsewhere too have been experiencing unprecedented troubles… supposedly because of austerity cuts. Worldwide we can expect a further reduction of financial support for libraries and museums.

What Happens At A Death Café?

Death Cafes began in Europe. More than 5,400 monthly Death Cafes now exist in over 52 countries. Initiated in 2010 by John Underwood in London, they began in Sonoma County, California, soon after that, with various facilitators over time.

India And Pakistan: The Only Meeting Ground!
by Mohammad Ashraf

The only meeting ground between the two Asian countries of India and Pakistan is the extreme poverty of the masses on the two sides of the divide!

ESOPs Fables :Infosys Stock Buyback Bonanza
by C R Sridhar

At the time of Vishal Sikka’s appointment Narayana Murthy joked “Vishal Sikka” means “Lots of Money,Big Money” .By a grim twist of savage irony, while the promoter shareholders reaped hundreds of crores of tax free moolah, Mr  Vishal Sikka whose name evokes “Lots of Gold Coins” was himself short changed in the end.
