Time to set the record straight.

There is no evidence suggesting Nelson's account is false or suggesting that she in any way adulterated either Moore's inscription or his signature.

President Donald Trump has a well-oiled lie machine at his fingertips. The alt-right conspiracy focused online “news” like Breitbart and The Gateway Pundit. That lie machine has revved its engine in support of Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore.
Roy Moore has been supported by former White House adviser and Breitbart guru Steve Bannon, and now enjoys the unwavering support of President Trump, despite the fact that many women have come forward to say that Moore sexually harassed and assaulted them when they were teenagers
In a clear attempt to discredit Moore’s victims and take a page from the Trump Campaign’s playbook, false headlines abound accusing one of Moore’s victims of falsifying evidence of Moore’s interest in her when she was 16.
The Gateway Pundit ran a headline that read “WE CALLED IT! Gloria Allred Accuser **ADMITS**She Tampered With Roy Moore’s Yearbook ‘Signature’ (VIDEO).” The Breitbart version of the same read “Roy Moore Accuser Beverly Nelson Admits She Forged Yearbook.”
The headlines are referring to Beverly Young Nelson, who says Moore sexually assaulted her when she was 16. Nelson provided her high school yearbook as evidence of Moore’s interest in her. In the yearbook was the inscription, “To a sweeter, more beautiful girl I could not say Merry Christmas. Christmas 1977. Love, Roy Moore, D.A.”
Moore supporters pointed out that the ink on the inscription is different from the ink that dated the message and identified the place “Olde Hickory House,” beneath the inscription. In a Good Morning America interview, Nelson explained that she wrote the date and place under Moore’s inscription, accounting for the variation in ink. She insists she did not touch the inscription or signature.
The Trumpian lie machine pounced on Nelson’s explanation. They perverted it and sold the lie that Nelson’s explanation that addressed their suspicion somehow demonstrated a lack of credibility for her entire story.
There is no evidence suggesting Nelson’s account is false or suggesting that she in any way adulterated either Moore’s inscription or his signature. The sad truth is that the Republican party is willing to support a child molester and allow the Trumpian lie machine to enable Moore’s abuses.
