CC News Letter 02 June- Two conflict zones. Two shocking killings.

Dear Friend,

Two conflict zones. Two shocking killings. One in Kashmir and the other in Gaza. It must be coincidental that fate of these two conflict zones are intertwined in strange ways.

A youth was crushed to death by a speeding paramilitary CRPF vehicle near Jamia Masjid, Srinagar on Friday. Kaiser Bhat, 21, of Fateh-a- Kadal has been identified as the dead person. Another youth also sustained injuries after being run over by the vehicle.

The latest victim of this Israeli onslaugt  in Gaza was a 21 year old paramedic Razan Al-Najjar killed while aiding injured peaceful protesters. She was a beautiful inspiring girl. I am haunted by the side-by-side pictures one of her smiling in her white uniform next to it a picture of her grieving mother. Imagine this your family!

Also more stories from around the world.

Natasha And Boris Badenov: Why Russians Are Upset With Americans- Seen Through The Eyes Of An Iraqi – Part I
by Jamal Al-Tahir

The Soviet system was unable to withstand the cultural domination that Brzezinski mentioned. The official state alternative had no appeal to the young; this all became more or less evident starting from the 60s in the 20th century. Even the protest movement of the left in the West including is bards and poets was twisted in a special way in the USSR. However, the seeds of discord were sown, and many members of the intelligentsia tread the path from fair criticism to total negation in the 80s.

Politics of Polarisation: A Flop Show
by T Navin

The election results in Kairana bye elections comes as a welcome development. The ideological investment made into the constituency to create a myth of the Hindu exodus due to criminal Muslim activities did not pay the electoral dividends. This is despite the Modi, Adityanath and Amit Shah Combine at the helm of campaigning and all out efforts to polarise. Neither the polarising formula nor the publicising tactics represented through the road shows could create an impact.
