U.S. Military Prepares for Winter War With North Korea, Russia by Buying Thousands of Skis | 29 Dec 2017 | The U.S. military is buying thousands of skis for the U.S. Marine Corps to enhance its preparedness for cold weather operations as tensions grow with Russia and North Korea--countries known for having brutal winters. The Marine Corps is spending 7 million on the winter equipment--a total of 2,648 sets of new skis, boots and binding for scout snipers, reconnaissance Marines and infantry Marines, Military Times reported Friday. This move is reportedly due to the fact the old skis were breaking. Marines stationed with the rotational force in Norway, deployed to the country back in January, will be the first to receive the new skis.

 

South Korea seizes ship it claims transferred oil to North Korea | 29 Dec 2017 | South Korea has seized a Hong Kong-registered ship that allegedly transferred oil to a North Korean vessel in violation of United Nations sanctions. The South Korean Foreign Ministry said the Lighthouse Winmore left the port of Yeosu in South Korea carrying refined oil which was then transferred to a North Korean ship in international waters on October 19. The US Treasury Department released satellite imagery in November of two ships allegedly performing an illegal ship-to-ship transfer in international waters on the same day.

 

'Accomplice in igniting war': Moscow says US crosses a line with lethal arms supplies to Ukraine| 23 Dec 2017 | The intention by Washington to provide lethal arms to Ukraine 'crosses a line' and pushes Kiev towards bloodshed, a senior Russian diplomat said, accusing the US of playing the role of warmonger in the Ukrainian conflict. The move by the US government is an escalation compared to the previous practice of providing weapons toKiev through contracts with American arms producers, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said in a statement. "In a sense, the US has crossed a line." The Russian diplomat added that Washington can no longer claim the role of mediator in the Ukrainian conflict, because in fact it's an "accomplice in igniting a war."

 

NATO tripled military presence on Russia's borders in just 5 years - Moscow | 22 Dec 2017 | NATO significantly bolstered its military presence on Russia's Western border over the past five years, forcing Moscow to take retaliatory steps, Russia's Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has said. Shoigu's remarks came during Friday's annual extended meeting of the Defense Ministry Board. "Since 2012, the strength of NATO military contingents deployed at Russia's western borders has grown three times. Four tactical groups of battalion level are a US armored brigade deployed in the Baltics and Poland, the staffs of international NATO divisions in Poland and Romania," Shoigu outlined. The number of engagement-ready troops has grown even more, from 10 to 40 thousand, the minister said.

 

Pentagon Admits to Carrying Out 'Multiple Ground Missions' in Yemen | 21 Dec 2017 | For the first time, the Pentagon has admitted to carrying out "multiple ground missions" in Yemen. "U.S. forces have conducted multiple ground operations and more than 120 strikes in 2017," U.S. Central Command, Centcom, in Tampa, Florida, said in a statement, with the aim to "disrupt the ability of al-Qaeda [al-CIAduh] in the Arabian Peninsula and ISIS[I-CIA-SIS]-Yemen to use ungoverned spaces in Yemen as a hub for terrorist recruiting, training and base of operations to export terror worldwide." The U.S. Defense Department claimed the ISIS presence has doubled in Yemen. 

 

Pyongyang rejects biological weapons rumors, accuses US of fabricating pretext for attack | 21 Dec 2017 | North Korea has rejected media speculation, fuelled by the US National Security Strategy, that it's preparing for chemical warfare. Pyongyang accused Washington of fabricating yet another "false pretext" for a surprise attack. As tensions on the Korean peninsula continue to escalate, a series ofreports suggest that North Korea might be developing a program to fit biological weapons on intercontinental ballistic missiles...North Korea dismissed the allegations that it's preparing for biological warfare. "The DPRK, as a state party to the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC), maintains its consistent stand to oppose development, manufacture, stockpiling and possession of biological weapons," the North's Institute for American Studies, affiliated with the foreign ministry, was quoted as saying by state news agency KCNA.

 

Japan approves missile shield expansion with US-made land-based Aegis launchers | 19 Dec 2017 | Tokyo has formally approved the purch-se and deployment of Aegis Ashore systems to "fundamentally improve" Japan's anti-missile capabilities against potential "surprise attacks," local media reported after the Cabinet meeting. The Japanese government plans to b-y two Lockheed Martin missile defense systems...Defense Ministry officials noted, expressing hope that Aegis Ashore would become operational by 2023. The missile defense systems will be equipped with SM-3 Block 2A interceptors and will be administered by the Ground Self-Defense Force.

 

Afghanistan suicide bomb attack: Dozens killed in Kabul | 28 Dec 2017 | At least 41 people have been killed and more than 80 wounded in a suicide bomb attack in the Afghan capital, Kabul. A Shia cultural organisation was the target but the Afghan Voice news agency was also hit. So-called Islamic State said it was behind the attack. The interior ministry told the BBC an explosion at the Shia centre was followed by at least two more blasts.

 

Egypt says 10 killed in attack outside Cairo church | 29 Dec 2017 | At least 10 people, including eight Coptic Christians, were killed after unidentified gunmen opened fire outside a church in a south Cairo suburb, Egypt's Health Ministry spokesman said Friday. Health Ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed said the attack outside the Coptic Church of Mar Mina left at least one policeman dead and eight others wounded, including two critically. The attack took place when two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire outside the church, he said. Egyptian security officials said earlier that two policemen were killed in the shootout and the discrepancy was not immediately clear.

 

NYC plans tightest New Year's security after deadly attacks | 29 Dec 2017 | New York City police are working to tighten security ahead of the city's New Year's Eve celebration in Times Square. In a news conference Thursday, law enforcement officials outlined plans to beef up security at the event, including placing counter-snipers and rooftop observers on more buildings and checking spectators with metal detecting wands...New York Police Chief of Patrol Terence Monahan said spectators will be screened twice before they're allowed to enter the designated pens at the Times Square event, and heavy weapons teams and dogs would be stationed throughout the viewing area. Police will also set up sand-filled blocker vehicles to prevent the possibility of a vehicle attack.

 

New York City lays out heavy security plans for New Year's Eve | 28 Dec 2017 | City officials outlined a detailed plan including heavy screenings, street closures counter snipers and specially trained dogs, while New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced additional security measures ahead of New Year's Eve..."There are 12 access points for spectators to come in. Each one will have vapor wake dogs assigned there, and there will be heavy weapons teams," Chief of Patrol Terence Monahan explained. "Once you go through there, you will proceed to the pens, you will again be screened a second time before you are allowed to enter the pens. There will be heavy weapons teams and dogs assigned throughout the entire viewing area. In addition, ESU will work hand in hand with FBI and Secret Service. We will have observation teams with counter sniper capabilities assigned throughout the entire viewing area."

 

New Year's Eve on Las Vegas Strip will have high security after shooting rampage | 27 Dec 2017 | Las Vegas officials are expecting lower-than-normal attendance at the New Year's Eve celebration on the famed Strip, but in light of October's mass shooting, security will be at its highest level in years. Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said Wednesday that the Homeland Security Department had raised the New Year's Eve celebration to the highest security level under its special events protocols -- SEAR level 1. In years past, it was level 3. The change, he said, will bring snipers with spotters, extra air support, more medical equipment and personnel, and mobile command posts staffed by federal authorities.

 

Two men charged with terror offences over suspected Christmas plot | 28 Dec 2017 | Police investigating a suspected UK Christmas attack plot have charged two men with terror offences. Andi Sami Star, 31, from Chesterfield, and a 22-year-old man from Sheffield have been charged with engaging in the preparation of an act of terrorism. Both will appear by video link before Westminster Magistrates Court on Friday. The pair were among four men arrested in Derbyshire and South Yorkshire on 19 December, with police raiding properties as part of a join operation with MI5.

 

Guns, ammo, will and letter seized from Pier 39 Terror Plot suspect's home | 22 Dec 2017 | A father is in shock Friday after his son, a former U.S. Marine, was accused of plotting a Christmas Day terror attack targeting a popular San Francisco location. According to documents, the suspect, Everitt Aaron Jameson, offered his services as a tow truck driver to an FBI source to "support the cause." Two days ago, investigators executed a search warrant at his Modesto home -- turning up guns, ammunition, a letter he wrote including the words, "I have committed these acts," along with his will. Federal investigators say Jameson planned the attack at Pier 39 because he had been there before and knew it was a heavily crowded area.

 

FBI: Man planned Christmas terror attack for SF's Pier 39 | 23 Dec 2017 | Officials have stopped a man who they say was plotting a terror attack in San Francisco over the holidays. The 26-year-old reportedly stated that "Christmas was the perfect day" for a terror attack in San Francisco and "did not need an escape plan because he was ready to die." The FBI arrested Everitt Aaron Jameson, who is a tow truck driver and lives in Modesto. According to a handwritten letter obtained by the FBI, Jameson also referred to himself as Abdallah adu Everitt ibn Gordon.

 

DHS labels Pennsylvania shootings a terror attack, blasts chain migration | 24 Dec 2017 | A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesman late Saturday labeled a string of shootings in Harrisburg, Pa., targeting police officers a terror attack and used the incident to criticize chain migration. Tyler Houlton said in a tweet that DHS confirmed that the suspect, 51-year-old Ahmed Amin El-Mofty, benefited from extended family chain migration, which takes place when immigrants in the U.S. sponsor other family members for visas.

 

FBI probing Pennsylvania shootings targeting police | 23 Dec 2017 | The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are probing whether a string of shootings in Harrisburg, Pa., on Friday constituted an act of terror. ABC News reported Saturday that federal authorities are investigating after 51-year-old Ahmed Aminamin El-Mofty allegedly opened fire on police officers in three different locations in the Pennsylvania capital on Friday. One officer was injured in the shootings. El-Mofty was shot and killed in a confrontation with police.

 

'Foiled terror plot': Police given more time to question men after raids | 20 Dec 2017 | Police have been given until Christmas Day to decide if they want to charge four men held as part of an operation to foil a suspected attack on 25 December. Following police raids on Tuesday morning, the men, aged 31, 22, 36 and 41, have been held for questioning. Detectives have been given till 4pm on Christmas Day to either charge, release or apply for a further extension to custody. South Yorkshire Police said specialist teams continued to assist with ongoing searches at the scene in Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, as a "precautionary measure".

 

Germany needs 2,000 more judges to deal with 'enormous' 5-fold spike in terrorist-related cases| 25 Dec 2017 | New terrorist-linked cases have skyrocketed this year, increasing almost fivefold compared to 2016, Germany's Federal Prosecutors Office has said. The revelation comes as judges lament that human resources are overstretched. As many as 1,200 investigations have been launched by federal prosecutors over various terrorist-related activities this year, the Federal Prosecutor's Office told the dpa news agency.

 

4chan Users Find Evidence Atlanta Airport Blackout Was Part of Intentional Cover-Up | 18 Dec 2017 | Late last night a sudden power outage shut down the world's busiest airport. With the outage leading to both the FAA and Atlanta's mayor ordering the suspension and grounding of all flights going both in an out of the airport while work was done to restore power. However, the internet detectives over at 4chan have noticed one interesting piece of the story that no one in the mainstream press seems to want to mention. That right in the middle of this over 12-hour supposedly complete air traffic shut down, a single plane was mysteriously allowed to leave the airport. Which leaves us with an obvious question. Just what was so special about this lone permitted flight?

 

Censorship? Julian Assange Vanishes From Twitter | 24 Dec 2017 | The Twitter account belonging to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange vanished off Twitter late on Sunday evening, while many were celebrating Christmas Eve. It is unclear whether he deactivated or if he was suspended, but given Twitter's new pro-censorship rules, many are speculating that it is the latter. A source who works closely with WikiLeaks told the Gateway Pundit that they were not aware of any plans for Assange to deactivate his account on his own. [Note: Julian Assange later returned to Twitter.] 

 

Ex-Fukushima plant worker granted compensation | 13 Dec 2017 | Japan's labor ministry has certified that a former worker at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant is eligible for work-related compensation after developing leukemia from radiation exposure. The worker in his 40s is employed by Tokyo Electric Power Company, which operates the plant in the northeastern prefecture of Fukushima. He worked at the plant for more than 19 years until last year...That period includes the 9 months following the nuclear accident at the plant, which started on March 11th, 2011.

 

Groups accuse Flint of violating legal settlement over water | 28 Dec 2017 | Plaintiffs in a landmark legal settlement related to Flint's lead-tainted water have asked a federal judge to intervene because they say city officials have repeatedly ignored requirements that allow monitoring of whether the court-ordered deal is being followed. The motion, filed late Wednesday in federal court in Detroit, accuses Flint and its city administrator of a "pattern of nonresponsiveness, delay and noncompliance" with providing status updates and other information. The agreement, which was approved in March, requires the city to dig at 18,000 Flint households and replace their underground water lines if they are made of lead or galvanized steel.

 

Court won't reconsider dismissing case against Obama fracking rule | 27 Dec 2017 | An appeals court declined Wednesday to reconsider its September decision that undid a previous court ruling overturning the Obama administration's fracking rule for federal land. In a brief order that didn't come with an explanation, the Denver-based Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit said no judge was interested in pursuing the process for a second hearing. The Wednesday order is mostly moot, since the Trump administration's Interior Department is working to repeal the fracking regulation at issue. But it could put Obama's rule back into force.

 

Classified documents among newly released Huma emails found on Weiner's laptop | 29 Dec 2017 | The State Department Friday released a trove of emails from Huma Abedin that the feds discovered on her husband Anthony Weiner's laptop -- including at least five that were marked as "classified." Most of the emails were heavily redacted because they contained classified material -- but one that was sent on Nov. 25 2010 was addressed to "Anthony Campaign," an apparent address belonging to Weiner. The message contained a list of talking points for then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who was prepping to make a call to Prince Saud of Saudi Arabia to warn him about sensitive documents that had been given to WikiLeaks by then-Army intelligence officer Bradley Manning.

 

Nunes blasts DOJ, FBI for 'failure' to produce records relating to anti-Trump dossier | 28 Dec 2017 | House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is blasting the Department of Justice and the FBI for its "failure to fully produce" documents related to an anti-Trump dossier, saying "at this point it seems the DOJ and FBI need to be investigating themselves." In a Thursday letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein obtained by Fox News, Nunes expressed frustration that information and witnesses subpoenaed by the committee in August related to the so-called Steele dossier had not yet been turned over. The salacious dossier includes unverified allegations about President Trump's connections with Russia that he has denied. "Unfortunately, DOJ/FBI's intransigence with respect to the August 24 subpoenas is part of a broader pattern of behavior that can no longer be tolerated," the California Republican wrote to Rosenstein.

 

'Let him do his job': Forty former government officials and attorneys pen letters telling President Trump that firing Robert Mueller would lead to 'severe repercussions' | 23 Dec 2017 | More than 40 bipartisan former government officials and attorneys [Deep State globalists] are telling President Trump and Congress to leave Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller alone so he can do his 'job.' In two letters, the former U.S. attorneys and Republican and conservative officials pushed back against efforts to discredit the special counsel investigating [alleged] Russian interference in the 2016 election. The letters come a week after speculation that Trump wanted Mueller fired over recent revelations that two former FBI agents, assigned to investigate the alleged collusion between Trump's campaign and Russia, had sent each other hundreds of 'anti-Trump' text messages during the campaign and election.

 

Prosecutors ask FBI agents for info on Uranium One deal | 21 Dec 2017 | On the orders of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Justice Department prosecutors have begun asking FBI agents to explain the evidence they found in a now dormant criminal investigation into a controversial uranium deal that critics have linked to Bill and Hillary Clinton, multiple law enforcement officials told NBC News. The interviews with FBI agents are part of the Justice Department's effort to fulfill a promise an assistant attorney general made to Congress last month to examine whether a special counsel was warranted to look into what has become known as the Uranium One deal, a senior Justice Department official said. At issue is a 2010 transaction in which the Obama Administration allowed the sale of U.S. uranium mining facilities to Russia's state atomic energy company.

 

U.S. court rejects Trump bid to stop transgender military recruits on Jan. 1 | 21 Dec 2017 | A federal appeals court in Virginia on Thursday rejected a bid by President Donald Trump's administration to prevent the U.S. military from accepting transgender recruits starting Jan. 1. The administration had urged the appeals court to suspend an order by a federal judge in Baltimore for the armed forces to begin accepting transgender recruits on that date. In a brief two-paragraph order, the three-judge panel of the Richmond-based 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said it was denying the administration's request while the appeal proceeds. All three judges are Democratic appointees.

 

Republican Tax Bill Passes Senate in 51-48 Vote | 19 Dec 2017 | Republicans took a critical step toward notching their first significant legislative victory since assuming full political control, as the House and Senate voted along party lines on Tuesday and into early Wednesday to pass the most sweeping rewrite of the tax code in decades.

 

Trump supporter Joy Villa says she filed a sexual assault complaint against Corey Lewandowski| 26 Dec 2017 | Singer Joy Villa, an outspoken Trump supporter, is accusing the president's former campaign manager of sexual assault following an alleged incident at a Trump International Hotel party last month. Villa says she's filed a report with the Metropolitan Police Department stating Corey Lewandowski smacked her on her rear end twice...According to the outlet, the Metropolitan Police Department has opened an investigation.

 

Swedish church pushes for neutral gender reference to Jesus | 30 Dec 2017 | A church in a Swedish city has defended its choice of gender-neutral pronoun 'hen' in reference to Jesus in an advertisement. The church insists the word gives "new perspective." In November, the largest religious institution in the country, the Church of Sweden, advised its clergy to avoid terms like 'Lord' and 'He' in worship services in order to not highlight that God is male, in the new version of a handbook on how to conduct services. The move has triggered a backlash, with critics saying the change undermines the Christian concept of the Holy Trinity and politicizes faith.

 

NYU Professor Pushes 'Gender Pronoun' Name Tags to Eliminate Classroom 'Microagressions' | 29 Dec 2017 | NYU professor Ph.D. candidate Justin Lerner is reportedly encouraging fellow teachers to require their students wear name tags which identify their chosen gender -- a suggestion intended to eliminate 'microagressions' by people who assume a person's gender, when in fact said life form has chosen to identify as something different. Lerner wrote an 11-page article along with Simmons College Professor Anjali Fulambarker, entitled "Beyond Diversity and Inclusion; Creating a Social Justice Agenda in the Classroom..." To rid classrooms of microaggressions, their first recommendation for professors involves requiring students to wear 'name cards with gender pronouns' so that students 'can avoid being mislabeled from the 1st day.'

 

College pronoun FAQ: regularly ask for others' pronouns | 21 Dec 2017 | A resource guide at Bard College encourages students, faculty, staff, and visitors, to avoid using "gender binary" language. The Pronoun FAQ, found on the school's Office for Gender Equity resource webpage, encourages community members to "avoid using gender binary language such as 'ladies and gentlemen,' 'boys and girls.'" Instead, they are urged to use "'everybody,' 'folks,' or, 'all people.'" The guide also states that simply asking another person about gender identity once is insufficient. "If I ask someone their pronouns once, is that enough?" the guide asks. "No, the best practice is to ask regularly because gender identity is not always fixed and static, and some people may change their pronouns."

 

Professors say classroom 'civility' promotes 'white racial power' | 14 Dec 2017 | Two University of Northern Iowa professors recently argued that practicing "civility" in college classrooms can "reproduce white racial power." C. Kyle Rudick and Kathryn B. Golsan assert in a recent academic article that civility, particularly "whiteness-informed civility," allegedly "functions to assert control of space" and "create a good white identity." This civility can reinforce white privilege, Rudick and Golsan argue, because "civility within higher education is a racialized, rather than universal, norm," according to the field of "critical whiteness studies."

 

3 ex-deputies indicted in stun gun death in Georgia | 20 Dec 2017 | A grand jury in Georgia has indicted three white former sheriff's deputies on murder charges for their alleged roles in the stun gun death of a 58-year-old black man who they said acted "suspiciously" after asking a stranger for water. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Tuesday's indictment charges the Washington County ex-deputies -- Michael Howell, Henry Copeland and Rhett Scott -- with felony murder, false imprisonment and aggravated assault in the death of Euree Lee Martin.

 

'Historic tragedy' as five-alarm fire in New York building kills 12 | 29 Dec 2017 | A fire tore through a Bronx residential building on Thursday, killing at least 12 people and leaving four others fighting for their lives in New York's deadliest fire in decades, officials said. The devastating blaze broke out shortly before 7pm in the 25-flat building opposite the Bronx Zoo...A one-year-old child was among those killed in the fire on a bitterly cold night with temperatures well below zero.

 

California's Thomas 'wildfire' now largest in state history | 22 Dec 2017 | The blaze known as the Thomas [Direct Energy Weapon-engendered] fire in Southern California is now the largest in the state's recorded history, fire officials said Saturday evening. The Thomas fire has scorched 273,400 acres, or about 427 square miles of coastal foothills and national forest. That makes the Thomas fire 154 acres larger than the 2003 Cedar fire in San Diego that killed 15 people, officials said.

 

Erie buried under record-setting snow storm with more on the way | 26 Dec 2017 | (Erie, PA) This city, which prides itself on plowing through the worst that winter can bring with little more than a shrug, has never seen anything like it. Nor, for that matter, has anywhere in Pennsylvania since the advent of weather record-keeping. By Tuesday evening, nearly 63 inches of lake-effect snow had piled up at Erie International Airport since Lake Erie began spewing its signature winter product on the landscape on Christmas Eve. The two-day storm total for Christmas and the day after, 60.9 inches and counting, smashed the previous high of 44 inches recorded at Morgantown, Pa., in March 1958.

 

British Columbia bans grizzly hunting effective immediately | 19 Dec 2017 | Less than a month after a ban on grizzly bear trophy hunting came into effect, the province has decided to expand the ban to include hunting the species for meat. B.C.'s minister of forests, lands and natural resources made the announcement Monday, stating that the decision was made after consultations conducted earlier this fall. "We have listened to what British Columbians have to say on this issue and it is abundantly clear that the grizzly hunt is not in line with their values," Doug Donaldson said in a statement. The government consulted with Aboriginal groups, stakeholders and the public, and said that 78 per cent of respondents supported an outright ban.
